World professional boxing champions Amir Khan’s next opponent 2016, not Manny Pacquiao
British welterweight will not be given chance to defeat Kell Brook urges Amir Khan to face him at Wembley Stadium.
Amir Khan’s Next Opponent 2016 KELL BROOK has told Amir Khan to ignore other title fights and face him at Wembley Stadium on June 4, 2016.
After missing out on mega-money fights with Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao in recent months, Khan has at least three options for world title fights in 2016.
Bolton’s ex-world champion was made mandatory challenger for the WBC welterweight title last week, which Americans Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero fight for in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Khan also has the chance to fight Liverpool’s WBO light-middleweight champion Liam Smith.
But Sheffield’s IBF welterweight king Brook insists fight fans want to see Khan against him more than anybody else.
Brook, 29, must first come through a defence against Kevin Bizier at the Sheffield Arena on March 26 to keep the Khan fight alive.
He said: “Khan has got nowhere else to go. He waited for Mayweather, didn’t get it, then he waited for Pacquiao and never got it.
“The fight against me is there to be made. It’s the biggest fight out there for him and the fans but I’ve got to take care of Bizier first.”
