In the co-main event, ‘King’ Arthur Villanueva (27-1-0, 14KO) will face Victor ‘Spock’ Mendez (19-2-2, 15KO) of Hermosillo, Mexico for the WBC international super flyweight title.


Villanueva lost Puerto Rico’s McJoe Arroyo for the vacant IBF super flyweight championship in his last outing on July 18 in El Paso, Texas in a controversial fashion when the referee stopped the fight in the 10th round due to a cut over the right eye of Villanueva. King” Arthur Villanueva bested Mexican Victor Mendez by split decision to clinch the WBC international super flyweight crown in the headliner of Pinoy Pride 34 Saturday night. Two judges scored the fight 117-111 and 116-112, while the third scored it 115-113 for Mendez. Villanueva won by scores of 117-111 and 116-112 as against Mendez’s 115-113.
